||
|
Michael Walter |
The Adventist church runs one of the largest Protestant educational systems in the world. We owe this treasure not to ourselves but to the instruction and guidance from God. Fact is that the characteristics of the ideals of Adventist education give by themselves the right to exist. But why do we need denominational schools? Do Adventists have anything to tell the world about schooling and education? These are only some of the questions that will be answered in this workshop. For to establish, organise and run a denominational school takes careful planning and preparation. The topics of the 2 units are: • The Adventist ideals of education: principles and aims • Requirements for establishing and running a denominational school Michael Walter is Pastor and presently Secretary of the Baden-Wuerttenberg Conference. He is also the Director of Education and committed himself entirely to the establishment of new denominational schools in his conference. He met his wife while studying at Andrews University. For 7 years he served as a Pastor in Japan. He has two daughters and his greatest wish is to experience and celebrate the second coming of Jesus with as many friends and relatives as possible. |
